Sometimes we want to give a special and unigue gift to someone, but without spending a lot of money. May be something handmade? Even if you don't feel very creative, you could create a gel candle, for example. But how to make gel candles? It's easy! When you choosing your containers, make sure that the opening allows for a 1-1.5 inch width between wick and glass. Also that the glass is relatively thick. This will stop the glass from cracking, because a glass containers must be pre-heated so that they do not crack when the hot wax is poured in. Place your glass containers (with wicks in place) on a tray in a cold oven and turn it up to 125º degrees. Gel wax also needs to be heated to 200º so actually goes syrupy when it is ready to use and that is the time to color the wax with a liquid color if you want. You might also add the candle fragrance just before pouring. Put some embeds to the bottom of the container and keep them near the outer edge of the glass container so they are more visible. Now you can pour gel in your container and enjoy. By the way, you know as to prepare gel for a candle independently? We have one recipe which we taken from here: http://www.ashkimsin.ru/chayxana/lofiversion/index.php/t6487.html : 5 parts of colourless gelatin dissolve in 20 parts of water, then add 25 parts of glycerin and heat up a mix until the transparent solution will turn out.
